Long Term Substitute - 5/6 STEM Teacher

Job Description:
This position is for a long term substitute STEM holding either a 5-12 Science or elementary teaching license. The teacher will provide instruction to students in grades 5 and 6 STEM classes as well as lead a daily advisory class.
● Implement daily STEM lesson plans and continually assess student development and performance
● Provide community building and social emotional learning in a daily advisory class utilizing the Developmental Designs framework
● Incorporate cross-curricular strategies to meet the scholars instructional needs and practice within the STEM discipline.

Qualifications

Current Minnesota licensure for Science 5-12 or Elementary K-6
Passion for critical literacy and the deconstruction of race, class, and gender
Feminist thinking and pedagogy
Social justice minded
Desire to work with middle school students
Passion for working with 5th – 8th grade students in an urban setting
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
Committed to creating a culture of inquiry
Inherent belief in the ability of all students to learn and achieve success
