Job Description
Job Summary: The Athletic and Activities Director at Lakes International Language Academy (LILA) is responsible for maintaining and overseeing student athletic and activity programs, ensuring compliance with state and federal guidelines, and aligning with LILA’s mission, vision, and school board policies. The Director will collaborate with students, parents, administration, and staff, manage records, prepare reports, and perform related duties as needed. This role reports to the Executive Director.
Essential Functions:
Develop and maintain student athletic and activity programs in accordance with state and federal guidelines.
Coordinate the scheduling of athletic competitions and activities.
Schedule officials, transportation, and game workers or volunteers; manage and process fees and contracts.
Communicate with students, staff, and parents regarding eligibility, event schedules, and complaints.
Hire and supervise coaches and other athletic and activities staff, ensuring proper training in adherence to policies and procedures.
Maintain active membership in MSHSL and other regional organizations.
Coordinate summer camp programs.
Research, write, and coordinate grant applications related to the department.
Participate in professional development approved by the Executive Director.
Perform all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in a related field
Five or more years experience overseeing student activities, coaching, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
CPR / AED / First Aid Certifications
Valid driver’s license in the State of Minnesota
Preferred Qualifications:
MN teaching license in physical education and developmental / adapted physical education.
Experience with the International Baccalaureate program.
Proficiency in Spanish and/or Mandarin Chinese is preferred but not required.
Physical Requirements:
This position requires vocal communication, hearing, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, standing, walking, sitting, pushing, pulling, use of hands to grasp and feel, and vision abilities including close, distance, and adjusting focus. Lifting/moving required frequently up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 40 pounds or more. Work occasionally requires exposure to bloodborne pathogens and is generally in a moderately noisy location. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
