The MN Association of Charter Schools Champion Award is designed to recognize the contribution of individuals who have championed the cause of charter schools in Minnesota's government.

The Award

A champion is someone who defends a principle and/or stands up for the rights of others.

The MN Association of Charter Schools Champion Award acknowledges and honors those who have played an important role in defending the principles of innovative education and the charter school law, and/or standing up for the rights of charter schools and their teachers, students, and community members as part of the charter school movement in Minnesota. In other words - people who have been champions for "Unleashing Education from Convention."

Eligibility

Nominees for the MN Association of Charter Schools Champion Award must be individuals in the legislative or executive branches of Minnesota government who have championed the cause of charter schools through specific action requiring outstanding service, political courage and/or the expenditure of political capital.

The Association's Board of Directors selects the individual(s) for the Charter Champion Award. Awards are presented at the Annual Meeting.
