Job Description

Job Title: Equity, Inclusion, and Wellness Program Coordinator
Level: All Levels
Classification: 1.0 FTE, Exempt regular salaried position
Licensure or Certification: Preferred Licensure in areas of: social worker, health & wellness, or closely related
Compensation: Payscale 3, Commensurate with experience & education
Reports to: Director of Student Service
School Year: 2024-2025, starting August of 2024

General Description:
The Equity, Inclusion, and Wellness Programs Coordinator works directly with students and collaborates with teachers and leaders.

The work of this role addresses equity, inclusion and wellness in the following areas:
Regularly join leadership team to discuss data and feedback and shape decisions impacting student outcomes and programs
Equity of the educational environment including needs for:
Racial equity
Gender equity including identity & sexuality
Addressing class & socio-economic equity
Ability (including physical & mental health disabilities)
Healthy relationship practices & social emotional learning
Coordinate resources among levels with directors to address:
Designing and delivering wellness lessons
Supporting healthy relationships and encouraging restorative practices
Encouraging upstander training
Developing norms, vocabulary and language that address microaggressions and other anti-bias anti-racist systems or interactions
Event Coordination
Bring in community experts to the school to discuss issues of equity
BIPOC student affinity events throughout the year
LGBTQIA+ student affinity events throughout the year

Lift up student voices through:
(For this role - Coordination often means working with other adults to plan and support - you don’t need to do this all alone!)
Coordinating monthly BIPOC events in elementary
Coordinating LA/UA BIPOC student organizations and weekly lunches and regular affinity events
Greeting students at doors in elementary and adolescent
Supporting activities that bring students together
Coordinate Students Against Misogyny, GSA, and Gender-Fluid Groups in elementary (including UE)
BIPOC Caregivers group & community outreach
Collecting student feedback to share with leadership team
Helping run student leadership/student government (including elementary)

Qualifications

Qualifications:
2+ years experience working with young people, and/or equity programming around racial justice and inclusion of all identities in educational programs
Have effective communication skills both written and verbally
Proficient with various word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software(Google Suite, etc.)
Have excellent organizational and problem solving skills
Have effective relationship building skills

Preferred qualifications:
Licenses or degrees:
Degree in education, social work, health, wellness, or other applicable courses of study
Experience in social work, student programming, youth programming
Experience and training in planning programs for youth ages 12-18, planning programs for children ages 6-12, and lesson planning for learning in the areas of social justice, equity & accessibility, health and wellness.
Understanding of the unique opportunities and challenges of a public Montessori program serving ages 6-18.
