Job Description
Job Title: Student Health Coordinator
Classification: 1.0 FTE (10 month position)
Compensation: Commensurate with experience
Benefits Eligibility: Yes
Reports to: Director of Administration
Start Date: Immediate Opening
General Description:
The Student Health Coordinator is responsible for serving as a liaison between the Licensed School Nurse (LSN; School Nurse consultant), student health and wellness faculty/staff members, and parents/guardians relating to health care issues and maintaining related health records. Student Health Coordinator also assists students with routine health care protocols.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Follow protocols and written care plans to administer medication, treatments, and episodic care under the supervision of the School Nurse consultant
Preparation, review and proper filing of incident report/concussion forms
Maintain relationship with the School Nurse consultant
Maintain accurate health records and secure storage of medication
Respond to health services needs and requests for information
Monitor and be the point of contact for health related concerns (ie. flu outbreaks, lice, etc.)
Prepare and maintain First Aid Kits and medication permission forms for office and field trips
Monitor/order health supplies as needed for general building/faculty use (non-departmental)
Maintain a clean and orderly health office
Ensure that health forms are available to students/parents
Part of Wellness Policy Committee and school wellness activities
Respond to safety related to healthcare
Participate in training as required
Preparation of files and references for trips
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED
Skills:
Must be able to multitask in a fast paced environment
Able to be calm and steady with staff and students in urgent health situations
Ability to understand documents and guidance from the MN Department of Health
Preferred Qualifications:
First Aid Training
