Reading Interventionist 2025-26SY

Job Description

POSITION: Part-Time Reading Specialist & Interventionist - 20 hours per week, three or four days per week schedule arranged in consultation with leadership

DATES OF POSITION: starting in August for the 2025-26 school year

PROFESSIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide 1:1 and small group instruction and assessment, including lesson planning, in the following programs:
- Orton-Gillingham training
- Wilson Reading System (not required)
- Just Words
- Rewards Secondary and/or Intermediate
- Reading fluency intervention
- Decoding direct instruction
- Conduct weekly or biweekly progress monitoring
- Participate in weekly Child Study Team and Staff Student Focus meetings (within work hours)
- Communicate progress with families as directed

Qualifications

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- MN Reading Endorsement, K-12, or Special Education licensure
- Training and experience in Orton-Gillingham based reading instruction and Structured reading instruction.
- Experience as a teacher of reading interventions
- Experience with FastBridge or similar assessment/data management system
- Participating in one of MDE’s Read Act Requirements; OL&LA (CORE), LETRS (LEXIA), or
- CAREIALL(CAREI University of Minnesota)
