Job Description
Lionsgate Academy specializes in educating students living with Autism and other learning differences and offers more than a typical school.
HEALTH TEACHING POSITION:
- This position is located at our Shoreview, MN campus.
- Grades 7-12, block schedule, 6 classes with 8-15 students/class
- Develop and deliver engaging health education lessons on topics such as nutrition, mental health, substance abuse prevention, and physical fitness.
- Create a safe and inclusive learning environment that encourages student participation and open discussion.
- Assess student understanding through tests, projects, and class participation, and adjust teaching methods as needed.
- Collaborate with parents, service providers, and other staff to support student health and well-being.
- Stay updated on current health trends and guidelines to provide accurate and relevant information.

Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Possession of a valid Minnesota Teaching License in the appropriate licensure area through Minnesota Professional Educator Licensing and Standards Board (PELSB): Health
- Ability to operate a computer and the software necessary to complete required job tasks
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- If not currently or appropriately licensed, must be willing and eligible to apply for and receive an Out of Field Permission or Tier 1 or Tier 2 Teaching License
- Classroom teaching and teaming experience with special education and regular education service teams.
- Experience and/or expertise with students on the Autism spectrum
