Job Description
Online Course Developer and Academic Teacher and Coach
In order to create a positive online classroom environment and instructional program
and to foster student success in accordance with the MNOHS mission, the online teacher/course developer builds relationships with students and families; prepares online lessons, instructs, and assesses students through an online learning management system; performs all related reporting duties; and communicates frequently with students, guardians and family support members, and MNOHS faculty/staff both
synchronously and asynchronously using online tools and technology provided by MNOHS.
Additionally, the online teacher/course developer represents and promotes MNOHS within various communities as a high-quality educational opportunity. This position reports to the Executive Director and collaborates closely with the Academic Director, other teachers and interventionists, school counselors, the school social worker, special education case managers, and the administrative staff
Qualifications
Qualifications:
Minnesota teacher’s license in English language arts (secondary level)
Thorough knowledge of ela content, resources, pedagogy, and assessment
Excellent communication, teaching, collaboration and strategic skills
Experience using asynchronous and synchronous communication tools and productivity software in a professional setting
Interest in online and alternative learning environments
(Preferred) Experience collaborating with Special Education staff
(Preferred) Experience as an online student or developing online learning activities
(Preferred) Experience as an online student or in online teaching
Experience in creating Online ELA lessons is a preference
Institution Description
Minnesota Online High School is one of Minnesota's longest running online programs. Our staff work virtually to provide teacher development curriculum options to students in a virtual classroom. We utilize with synchronous and asynchronous means to teacher courses and support students. We are a small charter school that is teacher powered, and student centered.
