Job Description
Job Title: Speech Language Pathologist
Reports To: Executive Director, Special Education Director
Supports: None
Status: Full-Time, Exempt
Effective for the 2025-2026 School Year

Position Summary: The Speech/Language Pathologist assists in developing speech and language skills to facilitate the personal, social, and intellectual development of students. In order to respond to the individual needs and abilities of students, the Speech/Language Pathologist must work closely with the staff and administration to ensure the success of Spero students.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Due process compliance, third-party billing, program data collection, funding reports, etc.
Lead and plan classroom social skills groups (3-15 students per group) using predetermined social skills curriculum
Prepare and instruct individualized articulation and language sessions

Teach functional life skills classes
Direct intervention services to students in the least restrictive environment (including classroom-based service)
Indirect intervention and consultative services to teachers and school staff
Other site-based and special education duties, including support of district literacy goals
Promote play and development of problem-solving skills
Case management for students with speech and language impairments only

Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Minimum Requirements:
Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) or completing Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) year
Masters Degree in Communication Disorders, Speech-Language Pathology, or related
Field
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds or move quickly to contain a student
Preferred Qualifications:
Direct service delivery with elementary-age children
Knowledge and experience working with Autism Spectrum Disorder
Skills with SpEdForms for IEPs, evaluations, and MA Billing (due process)
Indirect intervention and consultative services to teachers and school staff
Other site-based and special education duties, including support of district literacy goals
Promote play and development of problem-solving skills
Case management for students with speech and language impairments only
