Mission
The Mission of Augsburg Fairview Academy (AFA) is to be a passionate learning community dedicated to serving the academic, social and emotional needs of high school students in a safe and welcoming environment.
The Vision of Augsburg Fairview Academy (AFA) is to provide individualized options to help students successfully graduate and set clear expectations for them to explore and pursue their dreams.
Programming Notes: AFA offers an Indian Education Program designed to support our Native American students and the broader school community. This program includes Dakota Studies, Ojibwe Studies, Native American History, Native American Family Involvement Day, a Native American Presenter Series, and a Native American Resource Library. Students also have the opportunity to participate in field trips to Indigenous-owned businesses and organizations, community Powwows, and events like the Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women Marches. Additionally, our Indian Education Coordinator and Cultural Liaison provide support to staff in integrating Native American history, culture, and language into their curriculum.
History
Opened since 2005, Augsburg Fairview Academy offers a teen-friendly, and family-friendly, atmosphere in which students are deeply respected and everyone is held to a high standard of personal honor. Students find their place among people who care a great deal about them and their future. They encounter adults who use positive, strength-based approaches to help them succeed. Students are given a great deal of trust and independence with the expectation that they will, in turn, conduct themselves as responsible and self-directed learners.
