Seven Hills Prep, Nova Classical, St. Croix Prep, and Eagle Ridge Academy
Category: Create Professional Opportunities for Teachers
In the spring of 2016, four chartered public schools, Seven Hills Preparatory Academy, Nova Classical Academy, St. Croix Preparatory Academy, and Eagle Ridge Academy created the first ever Minnesota Classical Education Conference. At the time, there were no professional development opportunities specifically designed to support K-12 Classical education teachers. The MN Classical Education Conference provides an occasion for Classical educators from the across metro area, state and country to come together and learn from one another. The conference also offers an excellent opportunity for teachers to network with peers, meet new partners, and share valuable resources. The conference is intentional in its efforts to center Classical teachers, so all pedagogical sessions are delivered by teachers for teachers. The conference has been held annually and grown significantly since its inaugural year.
