Virlen Tank

Virlen holds a Master’s degree in Special Education from Bethel University, specializing in Emotional/Behavioral Disorders and Specific Learning Disabilities, with additional licensures in Mild to Moderate Mental Impairments and Autism Spectrum Disorders. With 25 years of experience in traditional and online education, she is committed to empowering students with diverse learning needs. As a member of the Cognia National School Accreditation Committee, Virlen leverages her expertise to evaluate schools and programs, ensuring adherence to quality standards, providing constructive feedback, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

A devoted mother of two high school lacrosse players, Virlen is actively involved in their local and travel box and field lacrosse pursuits, including her oldest son’s participation with The Isotopes, a Senior ‘A’ men’s box lacrosse team in the NABLL. In her free time, she enjoys hot yoga, warm destinations, live music, and creating lasting memories with her partner, Tom, and their blended family.
